After a long journey we arrived in Cusco on the morning of July 6th. Edson from Ian Taylor Trekking was waiting for us and escorted us to our very comfortable hotel. The hotel has a beautiful 16th century courtyard and the rooms were comfortable and modern. I had my first taste of munya tea in the hotel lobby, which was great. We unpacked and wandered out to explore Cusco.

We visited the Plaza de Armas and took in the vibrant city. We ate a late lunch/early dinner at one of the restaurants Laura Taylor had recommended, Kusykay. It was an outstanding meal and I enjoyed chatting with the friendly waiter in Spanish. A great first day!
